“Last night myself and Nikki were invited to Halesworth Golf Club by the Lions Club, where I was presented (during their 50 year celebrations) with an engraved obelisk trophy for citizens of the year 2024. This was in recognition for all the volunteer work our team have put in on the Mights bridge and its verges, the repainting of the bridge and its very long railings by the Community PayBack team, the repainting of the lost hero’s names on the war memorial in Southwold and adding planted barrels to the town and village. I accepted the award presented to me for the ‘whole team’. I thanked them for the incredible honour and said that it was a testament to the very hard work and dedication of every member of New Leaf Reydon and Southwold who have supported me every inch of the way. I also told the Lions group of the things we have in the pipeline. They then presented a cheque for £250 towards any New Leaf Reydon and Southwold project. A really big thank you to every member of the ‘amazing New Leaf team’ x” Taken from New Leaf Reydon and Southwold’s Facebook.
